I made sure my bags were on the curb and ready to go when Aaron arrived to pick me up bright and early the next morning. There was no way I was letting him into my apartment to see that disaster. Of course, there would be another setback. The universe had a cruel sense of humor. The second I thought I was getting caught up, she threw me another curveball and said, "Trevor, you ain't seen nothing yet."

The shiny black Lexus pulled up next to me, and that tall drink of handsome climbed out of the driver's side. He popped open his trunk and started loading my bags, and I swallowed thickly. I needed to stop thinking about Aaron as handsome, or anything other than my boss, otherwise things were going to get even more complicated.

"Are you ready to go?" he asked as he shut the lid to the trunk and eyeballed me over the rim of a pair of sunglasses. The sun was bright today, but the chill had settled in. I pulled my loose jacket tightly around me and nodded. My throat closed off, and I found it hard to speak while looking at him. I had to do this for two hours, being stuck in that car with him. And then share a room with him for an entire week. "Let's get on the road then."

I ducked into the passenger side and buckled my seatbelt.
